Protecting our countryside

pylon

Growing up in Suffolk, I realised we live in the beautiful part of the country. I do not want to destroy our beautiful countryside for the next generation. I oppose the Norwich to Tilbury pylon route, and I will make sure residents have a voice when it comes to other developments that blight our countryside.

At Leylands Farm

Visit to Leylands Farm

Friday, 8 November, 2024
Farming is facing unprecedented challenges: tougher regulations on chemicals, rising international competition, higher capital costs, increasing taxes, and increasingly volatile weather.

Westminster Hall debate on Business Property Relief and Agricultural Property Relief

Monday, 21 October, 2024
Farms, including those across #Suffolk are so integral to our economy and community. Threatening owners with a tax would cause more financial stress and threaten their long-term sustainability.

Visit to Alder Carr Farm

Tuesday, 17 September, 2024
Don’t miss out on dropping into Alder Carr Farm just outside of Needham Market. I enjoyed a delicious lunch on my recent visit and it is little wonder that they are an award winning farm shop.

Earl Soham visit

Thursday, 29 August, 2024
It’s (almost) the end of harvest season. I was lucky enough to join Rob and Eric outside #EarlSoham finish one of Eric’s last fields. A reminder of how important our farming industry is to our economy, food supply and environment.

Standing up for Suffolk's farming and agricultural communities

Wednesday, 31 July, 2024
Suffolk's farming and agricultural communities are emblematic of our local culture and identity - steeped in hard work, a love for family and community, a deep affection for our natural environment and a deep ambivalence to the weather! Our area is one to be proud of.

Supporting the NFU in Parliament

Friday, 19 July, 2024
On a swelteringly hot day, it was great to join NFU - National Farmers' Union for their reception in UK Parliament to back British farming. In Suffolk, 1 in 8 jobs is associated with agriculture and food production, so we know how important farmers are to our economy, environment and culture.

Framlingham Market

Saturday, 15 June, 2024
It was great to visit Framlingham market this morning, with the very best team of activists! Loads of people asking what the Conservatives will do for the farming sector, and a few raised eyebrows at how little the Labour manifesto seemed to mention the British countryside.

Offton Village Fete

Sunday, 9 June, 2024
Great to join residents at the Offton Village fête… also a good opportunity to talk #pylons and the damage they would do to this beautiful part of the countryside.
