Supporting families with expanded childcare options is a key priority, helping to ensure your child gets the best possible start in life while making it easier to balance work and family life.
If you're an eligible working parent in England, you can apply for a childcare code on GOV.UK for:
- Up to 15 hours per week of funded childcare for children aged 9 months to 3 years, over 38 weeks of the year.
- Up to 30 hours per week of funded childcare for 3 and 4-year-olds, over 38 weeks of the year.
Apply Now – Don't Miss the Deadline
The deadline to apply for a code is 31 March to use from 1 April. You’ll need to reconfirm your code every three months via your GOV.UK account.
Make sure you apply as early as possible and check with your childcare provider to understand their arrangements.
Tackling Unfair Childcare Costs
The Government has also strengthened guidance to ensure parents are protected from unnecessary additional charges or ‘top-up fees’ beyond their funded 15 or 30 hours.
