I've kicked off a new campaign this month to recognise thee valuable role our local and independent businesses play, both for our economy and society. I truly believe that business is the life blood of our economy, they create jobs, which pay salaries. Those salaries support other businesses and of course pay taxes. Businesses also drive investment which boosts productivity! Our economy is struggling at the moment, not because of Brexit, not because of inequality, BUT because our business sector is struggling under the weight of regulations and taxes. 

But what can we do here in Suffolk... well we can support our local independent businesses. This is about using what resources we have to avoid using big brand names and the usual online stores. Instead, we can support our shops, cafes, pubs, suppliers, and manufacturers here in Suffolk. because fi they thrive, we thrive.

£20 MILLION FOR WHITEHOUSE

I was delighted to see the Government have announced £20 million in funding through it's Pride of Place programme for Whitehouse. The money will be made available over the next 10 years for projects that boost  sense of community and inclusivity.
