The Northern Bypass: Neither the right solution for Ipswich nor for Suffolk’s broader transport challenges

Yesterday, I spoke to BBC Radio Suffolk on the renewed conversations surrounding the Northern bypass project. While the proposal aims to address traffic concerns, it is neither the right solution for Ipswich nor for Suffolk’s broader transport challenges.

With an estimated cost nearing £1 billion, the project would also necessitate the construction of tens of thousands of new homes across the northern villages of Ipswich - an outcome that raises significant concerns for local communities.
